Job description

Animal Control Officer $24.00 Hour

Location: South Riverside County

Schedule: Mon through Sun including alternating Saturdays and Sundays 8am to 5pm not to exceed 40 hours per week.

 

Job Overview:

 

The Animal Control Officer involves enforcing animal-related laws and regulations responding to calls regarding animal care such as dead or alive animals transport of injured animals to care facilities and enforcing municipal code pertaining to animal care and control. The primary scope will be field work driving a company vehicle. A valid Driver’s License and clean driving record is required.

 

Job Duties may include but are not limited to:

 

Enforce applicable animal control by patrolling streets

Impound dead sick injured stray or trapped domestic and non-domestic animals.

Investigate cases of injuries to and by animals; assist with disposal of animals as assigned.

Check animals for licenses and rabies vaccinations.

Prepare files records and reports.

Receive and respond to emergency calls; dispatch calls to related personnel.

Operate and maintain the animal control vehicle and various animal control devices and equipment.

Assist with programs and events; prepare posters and communications for events.

Skills & Requirements:

 

Previous experience in the enforcement of animal control or the care and handling of animals in a veterinary hospital boarding facility animal shelter or veterinary practice which must have included direct public contact.

Must be willing to work indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Valid California driver license and clean driving record is required.

Background check and Drug Screen required.
